This week Ashford Ladies 1s had the short trip to Folkestone this week for our 2nd league game of the season.
With Ashford keen to get another win under our belts, despite a few attempts on goal neither Ashford or Folkestone could score, keeping the score 0-0 at half time.
Ashford regained some confidence and composure in the second half, following on from a skilful goal by the team’s youngest member, Molly Kershaw.
A few minutes later Molly dominated in the circle again, with a delflection off a great ball into the cirlce from Gemma Luckhurst to bring the score up to 2-0 to Ashford.
Ashford continued working hard against Folkestone who were attacking back, our back line held them off well to help us find the back of the goal again with just a few minutes to the final whistle, this time it was Kim Cameron who got the goal. The final whistle went and Ashford kept a clean sheet to win 3-0.
Player of the match this week went to Molly Kershaw.
